The Times

The Times has been at the forefront of British journalism since it was founded as The Daily Universal Register in 1785.

More than two hundred years later, as it has adapted to the changing interests and lifestyles of its readers – in 2004 the compact was launched and Times Online has extended the global reach of The Times significantly since 1995 - The Times has been one of the media success stories of recent years.

Today The Times maintains its position as the journal of record, across a broad range of areas. As well as Home and World News, Business and Sport, the paper covers Lifestyle, Health and Fashion, Home and Interiors, Arts and Entertainment, Property, Travel, Motoring, Jobs and Careers. It is renowned for the quality of its journalism, and its writers and columnists include some of the biggest names in journalism.
